Little Green Dragons Nursery

We provide quality care for the under 5’s in a pleasant, relaxed and caring environment.  Our experienced, professional and motivated staff are keen to develop friendly contact and liaison with parents to ensure a happy atmosphere in the nursery.
 
The nursery day is organised to allow the child to grow and develop through varied activity and play.
 
The daily routine includes:

• Quiet/Active times
• Indoor/Outdoor play
• Child initiated/Staff initiated activities
• Gross Motor/Fine Motor movement
• Individual/Small group/Large group play

Activities are planned in advance by your child’s key worker with careful thought and consideration given to his or her individual ability and needs, encouraging the all round development of the child and making their learning a more collaborative process both in the nursery and at home.
 
Facilities are available for children who need/wish to sleep in the day, other children will be offered an alternative to rest.

Meals are freshly prepared onsite each day by our own catering staff.  Our menu rotates every six weeks and changes from summer to winter so every child receives a variety of meals.
 
Our menu caters for any dietary or religious needs and we aim to provide a well balanced breakfast, lunch and tea.
 
We gladly adapt meals to cater for individual needs. We try our best to provide special meals for those children with dietary requirements and are happy to discuss suitable foods with you.
 
Our nursery staff are more than happy to assist in the weaning of babies onto solid food and liquidised nursery meals are provided.
 
We always provide children with the recommended five portions of fruit and vegetables throughout the nursery day.

Babies

For babies we have created a loving, caring and sharing environment in which both you and your baby can feel comfortable, making your transition from home to work a happy and easy one.
  
Toddlers

There are lots of fun activities for our toddlers as well as opportunities for your little ones to learn some very important social skills. 2 year funded places are available.
 
Pre-School (3-5 years)

For Pre-School we offer a range of activities and free play opportunities in a safe, friendly and stimulating environment where your child can start to become school ready by developing:

• social skills
• independence in their own personal care
• a curiosity about the world and a desire to learn
• the capacity to cope with being separated from their parents

 15 & 30 hour funded places are available.

We have a lovely secure outdoor play area at the nursery that we try to use as much as possible, weather permitting of course! We also have a purpose built outdoor classroom that provides cover from the sun and rain for outdoor lessons.
 
There’s a music area, planting and digging area as well as access to lots of other outdoor equipment such as parachutes, bats and balls, balance beams, footballs and much more.
 
Our aim is to ensure all children are returned to their parents happy and smiling.

We also offer an early start 7.30 am or late collection 6.00 pm for parents who need it, at an additional charge. Full time places include breakfast, lunch and tea. Lunch can be added to morning or afternoon sessions, snacks including fruit are provided during the day

We adhere to best policies and procedures regularly reviewing and updating these in accordance with current legislation, Early Years Foundation Stage programme (EYFS).
