Exercise
Exercise for the over 50's
This course is for anyone who would like to improve their lifestyle and take part in gentle exercise.
Brownhills Community Association aims to provide a class to promote exercise in a safe, non-competitive form, in the hope that it will encourage the students to become aware of the benefits exercise can bring.
Assessment of each student is essential to ascertain any relevant medical conditions and advise if necessary to consult their doctor before starting to exercise.

Music will be played during part of the session; this will vary from week to week making the class as fresh as possible and make exercising fun for students.
Work will be done to improve muscle strength, posture and flexibility. Low impact aerobic exercise will be included in each class and be progressive through-out the course; slowly improving on cardio vascular function.

Discussion about different types of exercise and a healthy lifestyle will be included; also techniques to promote relaxation using breathing and stretching will be included as course progresses.
Making the class ‘fun not punishment’ is most important in ensuring the students making the class part of their life for as long as possible. The course is suitable for men and women over 50 years of age.
